Woman Kills Husband Over 1,300 Cedis Loan

A woman whose age is yet to be established by police has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her husband to death at Hwediem near Tabuom in the Atwima Kwawumo District of the Ashanti Region. Martha Odey, who is believed to have separated with the husband, in the last few months, stabbed him during a quarrel over 1,300 cedis, an amount she loaned to him for rent. The man died later at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi on Wednesday. The man, whose name was not given immediately by the police became unconscious and was rushed to the emergency unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi where he died Wednesday morning. Narrating the incident to Ultimate Radio, Asokwa Police Commander, Superintendent Anadani Ameyaw said the woman traveled from Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South District, to Hwediem in the Atwima Kwawoma District, to collect her money when she found another woman in the room with her separated husband. �Information reaching police is that, the deceased and the spouse have separated but before the separation, the man took a soft loan of Ghc1, 300 from the woman to rent a room. The woman last night around nine pm traveled from Mankranso and then went to the house and attacked the man for the money. In the process there was another lady with the man and this suspected murderer attacked the rival and when the man came round, she had picked a knife and she stabbed him in his ribs,� Superintendent Anadani Ameyaw narrated. He told Ultimate Radio the woman is in police custody pending police investigations.
