Chief Executive Officer of Kasapreko Company Limited, Dr. Kwabena Agyei has challenged local industrialists and manufacturers, especially the youth to make a difference in the world by assigning to themselves tasks that will empower the country economically with made in Ghana products. Dr. Kwabena Agyei�s appeal to Ghanaians was borne out of his international recognition for the performance of Kasapreko products in the international market, saying Ghanaian manufacturers must be determined to break every obstacle in their line of businesses to make the country proud. To the CEO, the time has arrive for Ghanaians to rise in the defense of the country�s economy with whatever activities they are engaged in as local businesses are the only means to resolving the dwindling economy. He added it is time to put a stop to the importation of basic needs which the country can manufacture locally so as to empower the economy. �I want to encourage Ghanaians that it is not necessary to start business on a large scale but you must have a small beginning�.anything you are determined to do, you can do it and this is what I want to assure Ghanaians especially the youth. I never attended any school of brewery but I was inspired by my vision and set out to carry out the vision�.don�t give up after the first attempt�, he said. Speaking in an interview with Abeiku Santana, host of Ekwanso Dwoodwoo on Okay Fm, on how to make Ghana proud through its local products on the international market, Dr. Augustine Kwabena Agyei told the host that Ghanaians who are determined to break into the international market must consider the standardization and packaging of their products as these appear to be the obstacle confronting marketing local products in the international market. Turning to the political debate on the economy of the country, the CEO of Kasapreko Company Limited, one of the leading and successful alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverage producers in Ghana warned that until manufacturers and Ghanaians stop importing the basic needs like toothpicks from China the economy will continue to suffer. He stressed that whenever the country imports products from outside those countries their economies are empowered, adding it is time to empower the economy of Ghana by trading among ourselves without solely relying on the government to transform the economy. �We should not blame the government alone for the economic hardship in the country. Why is it that Ghanaians don�t buy made-in-Ghana goods?...We should buy our own products; we will continue to suffer if we cannot produce the basic things we need as a country and until we stop importing toothpicks from China, we cannot do well economically,� he asserted.
