Hearts In A Tough Test

Second placed Hearts of Oak, will face a tough test as they welcome Ashgold in week-22 of the First Capital Plus Premier League game at the Accra Sports Stadium in mid-week duel. The Phobians who looked inconsistent in the second round are seeking to defeat their opponents to pile pressure on their perennial rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who are sitting at the top of the league log comfortably. A win for the rainbow colours tomorrow, will give them a close chase to clinch the title as they are eleven points behind the Porcupine Warriors. Mohammed Polo's charges who accumulated 35 points from a possible 63 points from the 21 matches, seemed to be motivated by new changes in the club including the goalkeepers trainer, Eben Armah Dida and Yaw Amankuah Mireku as goalkeepers trainer and team manager respectively and are expected to bring their expertise to board to defeat Ashgold. However, their opponent will also be motivated by the 1-0 slim victory they recorded when they host the Phobians in the first round to march on. Elsewhere at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, league leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko will lock horns with Heart of Lions who defeated Kotoko 2-0 in the first round. The Porcupine Warriors who lost six points in their last three games will need a convincing result to keep their title chase alive with nine matches to go in the season. At the Essipong Stadium, debutants Bechem United who are seeking for a fourth place in the league will face a tight hurdle when they host Hassacas whereas, whilst Inter Allies battle Berekum Chelsea who are still struggling this season at the Tema Park. In other interesting ties, Liberty Professionals who defeated Kotoko over the last weekend will travel to the Berkwai Gyamfi Park with much confidence and determination to seek victory against New Edubiase, with Aduana Stars playing King Faisal in Dormaa, whilst Ebusua Dwarfs will take on Amidaus Professionals at the Robert Mensah Stadium, Cape Coast to the week 22 fixtures.
