Dont Accept Mediocrity In Governance - PPP

The Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) has enjoined Ghanaians to not accept mediocrity during the 2016 general election. According to the party, the vote people give out determines their condition of life, the opportunities to get jobs and access to an acceptable level of health cake. The National Vice Chairperson of the PPP, Mrs Mary Boakye-Boateng, threw the challenge to Ghanaians at a press conference organised by the party in Accra yesterday. The conference was organised to present the current state of the party and announce activities marking its second anniversary celebration in 2014. Mrs Boakye-Boateng also called on religious leaders to pray for the renewal of the minds of the electorate to make the right choices on their own in the election. Nation in crisis She said the country was in crisis because of bad leadership and mentioned the energy crisis, corruption and inadequate health facilities as examples. These crises, she pointed out, were as a result of Ghanaians inability to elect capable leaders who would deliver on the promise of economic independence. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) have disappointed Ghanaians over and over again and are repositioning themselves to compete for power via the 2016 elections to keep Ghanaians in perpetual economic slavery, she noted. Reacting to the challenge, she said the PPP was striving hard to win the 2016 elections to rescue and deliver Ghanaians from the non-performing government in the country. Activities for 2nd anniversary Mrs Boakye-Boateng said the party would hold a second anniversary lecture to be addressed by the 2012 presidential candidate, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom. She said Fridays in the month of May would be observed as PPP day, adding that supporters would be dressed in party colours to create public awareness about the partys plans for the country. Mrs Boakye-Boateng said the party would embark on a community development project in various communities that lacked potable water.
