Fourteen Obuasi Illegal Miners Transferred To Kumasi For Prosecution

The Ashanti Regional Police command has confirmed that they are keeping 14 illegal miners who were arrested at Obuasi today. Looking pale and malnourished, the illegal miners surrendered themselves to AngloGold Ashanti security personnel Friday morning at Obuasi, after running short of water and food. They gave their names as Twurukube Adambo 30 years old, Joseph Akubila, 27 surrendered yesterday while Kwaku Buni, 28, Kwabena Baffoe, 25, Inusah Tahiru, 21 and Kofi Saga, 20, Suleman Noduno, 30, Abdul Razah, 19, Ibrahim Yaku, 28, Kassreso Osman,23, Yusif Dramani, 28, Adongo Lesuhe, 32, Zalesri Yere, 29, and Kofi Srhayene, 19 gave themselves up this morning. Speaking to the Obuasi media, the Obuasi Divisional Police Commander, ACP Berchie Dwumforur said his office was inundated with �calls that some illegal miners working underground illegally were in trouble yesterday and were ready to give themselves up at the northern section section of mine.
