The National Petroleum Authority has introduced a new technology to stop fuel adulteration and smuggling. The Petroleum Product marking Scheme comes in the form of a dye which is put into the consignment of products. It then grades the products, pass, suspect or disqualify them if authorities of the NPA come for inspection. Speaking at the launch of the scheme, the Chief Executive of the NPA, Moses Asaga, said sensitisation of dealers in petroleum will be completed by September this year after which sanctions will be taken against defaulting dealers.
