BAG launch �Shuttle Time� project in Ghana

The Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG) has launched a grass root development project dubbed �Shuttle Time�, aimed at unearthing talents and popularising the sport in the country. "Shuttle Time� is an innovative schools badminton program launched in 2011 by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), with the aim of making badminton one of the world�s most popular schools sport. Nestor Galley, President of BAG , said Ghana is the only beneficiary of the project in the West and Central Africa following her selection by the BWF and Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA). Galley stated that, his outfit has received donation of Badminton equipment from the BWF for the implementation of the programme. He said the items include; 500 rackets, 60 Dozens shuttlecocks and 20 nets, adding that they will be distributed to schools across the country. Alice Attippoe, Ag. Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA) said she was delighted at the initiative by the BAG and BWF and expressed appreciation to international body for supporting the local federation. She affirmed her outfit�s support for the programme and said they were eager to sustain the Shuttle Time project across the country. Erasmus Adorkor, Deputy Director General (Technical) of the Sports Authority praised the BAG for their commitment in ensuring that, the sport is developed and popularized throughout the country. Adorkor appealed to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to make inculcate Badminton into their Physical Education curriculum adding that it would sustain the interest in the sport.
