SSNIT To Implement A New Application System

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has announced its readiness to implement a new application system for the administration of SSNIT system. The new system which is known as Operational Business Suite (OBS) seeks to provide superior service delivery to stakeholders by employing appropriate technologies which involves the implementation of the enrollment module by May this year. The Koforidua District Manager of SSNIT, Mr Mohammed Achamb, made this known at an employers seminar on the new application system at Koforidua on Monday. Under the new system, by May this year, SSNIT would update both employers and employees' records after which SSNIT would introduce biometric registration of all SSNIT contributors. Mr Achamb said the main goal of the new system is to provide superior service delivery to all stakeholders. He mentioned some of the objectives of the new system to include provision of multiple service delivery channels to customers, drastically reduce the registration cycle for new members and elimination of multiple member registration through a highly secured Biometric System. The system reduces fraud, facilitate member identity management, reduce benefits processing time and enhance identification process to enable effective collaboration between SSNIT and business partners. Mr Chamb said the new system would eliminate multiple enrolments through one-to-many fingerprint match and therefore there was no cause for alarm. The Koforidua Area Manager of SSNIT Mr Sylvester Anko-Bil, said OBS comes with new technologies that seek to improve upon the operational efficiency of the Trust. He said the new technologies require new ways of doing business and therefore urged all stakeholders to adjust in order to achieve the objectives of the new system. Mr Anko-Bil also appealed to all stakeholders to co-operates with SSNIT and put in the necessary effort to ensure the success of the project.
