I Suspect Foul Play In Tamale Shooting Incident Jake

The national chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jake Obetsebi Lamptey says he suspects foul play in Thursdays shooting incident at Tamale. This is foul play because there is already a foul play, he insisted. Nine persons were injured when unknown persons opened fire into a gathering of merry makers in Tamale on Thursday. Mr. Obetsebi Lamptey is therefore calling on the police to immediately hunt down the culprits because there is bound to be merry making when large groups of people meet and their safety should be guaranteed. The Police should immediately move and bring the culprits to book. Let us make an example of these people and let us send a message out that Tamale is not going to tolerate violence of this nature, he said. In a related development, the Northern Regional chairman of the party, Daniel Bugri Naba has expressed concerns about the failure of the Police and other security forces to protect party members as promised. I am very, very surprised that with all these security people on the groundthey told us to go and celebrate our conference and that we are fully protected, even our accommodation area will be protected, he complained. The Police have reinforced its personnel in the region with more than 100 officers ahead of the partys national delegates conference. Bugri Naba expressed his concerns in an interview Citi News after visiting the NPP supporters who sustained gunshot wounds during the shoot out. According to him, he got wind of information on Thursday that some National Democratic Congress (NDC) members were planning an attack on the NPP and now the thing has happened.
