Principal Warns Public Against Paying Bribes For Admission

Principal of the Seventh Day Adventist Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Kwadaso, Kumasi, Mr Daniel Atta Tuffour has warned the general public against attempting to bribe him for admission of their wards. He has also cautioned self-styled admission agents to desist from assuring the public of securing admission for their wards for a fee. Mr Daniel Tuffour was speaking to The Finder at a handing-over ceremony where his school was presented with two brand new vehicles by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). He said all his teaching and non-teaching staff members were aware of his stance and had been warned accordingly to desist from taking bribes to secure admission for applicants. Interestingly, the caution notice is posted at various places on campus: "The wrath of God will be on anybody who will give and take bribe." His concern follows a bitter experience last year where many parents trooped to the school to demand for refund of monies paid to unscrupulous persons who go about deceiving the public promising them admission for a fee. The school received two vehicles a 31-seater Toyota Coasta bus and a Toyota pick-up valued at GHC295,557,050. Chairman of the PTA, Elder Peter Antwi explained that they saw the need to assist the school with means of transportation since the school has only one bus for transportation. Each student was billed GHC200 for first and second semesters plus monetary contributions from parents and guardians of the pupils to make this initiative possible. He, however, admonished school authorities to ensure proper use of the vehicles.
