Kudos To NPP For Not Electing Radio Cantata Executives; Theyre A Threat To Us, But...

General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) says the newly elected executives of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) are going to be a threat to his party. The NPP elected new leaders over the weekend during their National Delegates Conference held at Tamale. Mr. Paul Afoko, Chairman; Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, General Secretary; Sammy Awuku, National Youth Organiser; John Boadu, National Organiser; Otiko Afisa Djaba, National Womens Organiser; Freddie Blay, Sammy Crabbe, Fredua F. Antoh, Vice Chairmen; National Nasara Co-ordinator, Kamel-Deen Abdulai and Emmanuel Abankwa Yeboah, National Treasurer were elected to lead the NPP. This new batch of executives took over from Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, then Chairman, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie also known as Sir John, then General Secretary and others. Assessing the new executives, Bernard Mornah was of the view that the new leadership poses a serious challenge for us; the PNC. By public perception, PNC is a northern party, with Afoko as the leader and chairman of the NPP, it poses a great problem to us the PNC and we need to strategise well and widen our horizon. If votes are going to be done on the line of coming from the same stock, it will affect and change the political equation. We really need to sit down and plan, he told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Kokrokoo. He however commended the NPP for electing executives who will not dabble in radio cantata politics. He said the new breed of executives will engage in issue based politics and not insults; as has been the history. They have selected some of the finest in our politicsyou will hardly hear them insult on any platform. This is a crop of leaders who will match our party on issue basis and not on insults. Previously, the trivialities and radio cantata were too much in the previous executives but with the current executives, it will not be like that, Bernard Mornah said.
