Ashaiman Is A Policemans Nightmare

The unplanned nature of Ashaiman and the fear of giving information about criminals make policing a very difficult task in the area, Deputy Commissioner of Police Beatrice Z. Vib-Sanziri, Tema Regional Police Commander, has said. The haphazard ways in which we site our buildings make the response to call to crime scenes or areas very difficulty, she said. Addressing policemen and women at the annual West Africa Security Services Association (WASSA) day at Queens Hotel in Ashaiman on Wednesday, DCOP Vib-Sanziri said poor street numbering and naming and road accessibility also impeded police progress in terms of getting at criminals on time. She reiterated that the use of motorcycles for commercial purposes was unlawful and asked those in engaged in that business to stop or face the rigorous of the law when arrested. She advised all to make security their priority by collaborating and offering timely information to the Police to prevent crime as well as pursue criminals. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jonathan Ametepe Adams-Godoe, Ashaiman Divisional Commander, appealed for help to complete five projects the Divisional Command is embarking on to provide a relatively serene work place environment for personnel. ACP Adams-Godoe said the projects dubbed, Quick Impact Projects (QIPs), will ensure proper fencing and landscaping of the Divisional Headquarters/ Mandela Park at Kaketo, construction of a new Ashaiman Divisional Headquarters, re-location of the old barrier to a new place at Shai Hills, refurbishing/equipping of the divisional headquarters and installation of a standby generating plant
