Chairman Of National Peace Council Calls For National Unity

Reconciling to one another as one people, in one nation, irrespective of political, religious and ethnic leanings, is the season's message from the Chairman of the National Peace Council, Most Rev. Prof Emmanuel Asante. He said it is for this same reason, that Christ died on the cross, that is, for man to reconcile to God the Father. In that spirit of reconciliation, national unity and stability will thrive. The Most Rev. also gave a sense of meaning to this day, called Good Friday. In a related development,the General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Reverend Dr. Opuni Frimpong has advised Ghanaians to use the celebration of Easter to sacrifice for mankind. Speaking on Radio Ghana's Current Affairs Programm, "Behind The News" Reverend Dr. Opuni Frimpong said the challenges facing the country will reduce if Ghanaians sacrifice. He justified the marking of Easter with Church Services.
