Cape Coast POTAG To Embark On Strike

The Cape Coast chapter of the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG) has threatened to embark on a strike by the end of April if government fails to take appropriate measures to pay them their book and research allowance. According to the Association, government has failed to address discrepancies in their book and research allowance. Citi FMS Central Regional correspondent, Kwamena Bamfo reported that government has refused to heed the Associations plea on several occasions. Despite series of letters written by the Association to the Ministry of Education, government has still not responded, he said. Meanwhile, the President of the chapter, Mr. Issac Fynn says several attempts to get the government to address the problem have proved futile. Mr. Fynn, therefore, appealed to government to take the appropriate measures to pay them their allowance.
