Asante Kotoko Suspend Yahaya Mohammed Indefinitely

Striker Yahaya Mohammed has been hit with an indefinite ban by Kumasi Asante Kotoko for allegedly travelling to Libya to sign a contract with Al Ittihad Tripoli without the notice of the Kotoko management. Mohammed, whose contract expires at the end of the season has also been told by the club to inform the Libyan club to contact Kotoko for negotiations if they are still interested in hiring the services of the ex RTU man or face a FIFA action. The former Amidaus Professionals captain is reported to have rejected a contract extension so he could leave the club on a free transfer. Kotoko set a three member committee to investigate the circumstances under which the player went AWOL. Yahaya told Ghanasportsonline.com "The committee invited me and I told them my side of the story and today they called me to give me a letter that I have been suspended indefinitely". "They also told me to inform the club in Libya that they should come to Kumasi and enter negotiations with them or they will write to FIFA and so I want to give the letter to my lawyers and see what to do." Yahaya is yet to play for Kotoko since he returned from the 2014 African Nations Championship.
