Be Active In Governance- Sammy Awukus Spiritual Father Urges Christians

Prophet Albert Asihene Arjaquah of the Koforidua Assemblies of God Church has admonished Christians not to be passive spectators in governance and politics, but active participants to ensure that leaders of the country are put on their toes so as not to take decisions that will incur the wrath of God on the nation. According to him, Ghana is a blessed nation and has abundant natural resources, but the iniquities of some of the leaders the nation has had are attracting punishment for the country through the economy. He said the economy of the state will bounce back as Christians continue to pray for the country, while other measures are being put in place. He, however, warned that there is the need for the leaders to be God fearing and execute their constitutional obligations diligently. Prophet Arjaquah was speaking to the Daily Heritage after returning from South Africa where he was a guest preacher at a convention held by House of Hope Chapel in Durban. He said Christians must have influence in governance at all levels, advancing moral principles and seeking to fight evil deeds from politicians who are selfish, adding that part of the responsibility includes being "salt" and "light" in the public square and the corridors of government. He explained that the Bible teaches that God ordained government and that government has a specific and important set of God-given responsibilities to undertake to better the living standards of the people. He said Christians must not engage in partisan politics, but rather support any government in power through prayers and biblical guidance to carry out those responsibilities to inure to the benefit of the nation. He said Ghana has a lot to learn from South Africa and other developed nations. Prophet Arjaquah said a number of sick persons received their healings during the Durban Easter convention while others received their deliverance. The convention was attended by hundreds of believers across the world.
