A 41-year-old cleaner working with Nsuta Manganese Company has been sentenced to 18 years imprisonment by a Tarkwa circuit court for defiling a 12-year-old girl.
Jonah Mogre pleaded guilty.
Chief Inspector Florence Tawiah told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawuo that on March 30 the victim�s brother sent her to buy polythene bag and on the way the convict gave her 50 pesewas to buy him charcoal.
When the victim brought the charcoal the convict dragged her to his veranda, covered her mouth and eyes with a piece of cloth and defiled her.
