As reported by Ghanasportsonline.com few days ago, reports from the camps of Accra Hearts of Oak indicate that Managing Director, Neil Armstrong Mortagbe has been axed by the club today.
The decision was taken by the club�s board on Monday at the club's secretariat after a series of accusations were leveled against the former GHALCA treasurer including an alleged visa racketeering and fraud.
�He has been told to step aside and a committee will be set up to look into those allegations of misconduct,� a source said.
�He was told to prepare his handing over notes", the reports stated
Ghanasportsonline.com reported last week that the Board members of Accra Hearts of Oak had resolved to axe the FIFA Marketing consultant with immediate effect following the club's dismal performance this season.
Mortagbe who has risen through the ranks of the club was appointed as Heart Managing Director barely ten months ago but has struggled to restore the club's reputation and pedigree in Ghana and on the continent. He has personally been surrounded by controversies as he was alleged to have misappropriated an amount of $1,000 belonging to club captain Moro Abubakar.
Mortagbe has also been fingered in a visa fraud case which landed him in police grips, a story the beleaguered Managing Director has come out to deny.
