Stephen Adams Receives Official Black Stars Call-Up, GFA Orders Aduana To Stop Using The Player

Ghanasportsonline.com has gathered that Aduana Stars glovesman Stephen Adams has received an official invitation from the technical handlers of the Black Stars and the 2010 Ghana league best goalkeeper is set to join coach Kwasi Appiah's 30 man squad for preparations to the World Cup. The Ghana Football Association have officially notified Premier league side Aduana Stars not to select goalkeeper Stephen Adams in any competitive match until the end of the season in order to make the shot stopper eligible for the FIFA World Cup in June, Ghanasportsonline.com can exclusively reveal. Albert Commey, The Chief Executive Officer of the club has disclosed that the club have agreed to a call from the Ghana Football Association to drop Stephen Adams from all their competitive matches till the end of the season giving a clear hint that the 2014 Ghana CHAN hero is set to make coach Kwasi Appiah's squad for Brazil. After Ghana failed to meet FIFA's deadline for the completion of all domestic competitions, the World Football governing body gave the Ghana Football Association and the premier league board an extended three week period, thus the First Capital Plus Bank premier league will end on June 4th instead of the 18th May deadline. However, the acquiescence came with a condition that players involved in the league in that extended period will be ineligible to represent the country in the World cup. But in an ambitious move to include the 26-year-old enterprising shot-stopper in Ghana's final 23 man squad for the Mundial, the Ghana Football Association on instructions of the Black Stars technical team to order Aduana Stars to stop using Adams. The Dormaa-based side, meanwhile have agreed to the decision of the football association to stop using the number one choice in order to facilitate a dream World cup appearance for the 2010 Ghana league best goalkeeper. �The goalkeepers at Aduana Stars are not only Adams, we have Damptey, Razak who has kept the post in our last two matches and one in our reserves so we accept the decision and would obey to what the FA said to ensure that Adams is eligible for the world cup,� Commey told Takoradi � based Empire Fm. Adams conceded only a single goal in open play during the tournament where Ghana won silver after losing 4-3 on penalties to Libya.
