Mr Archer-Kwajan, who was testifying at the Judgment Debt Commissions sitting in Accra, explained that the GHA was in the process of paying the remaining two per cent, and that, the mode of payment had been accepted by all the affected persons. He said the GHA had so far paid GHC 7, 210,676.53 as compensation. Also in appearance at the Commission was Mr Kwabena Sarfo Mensah, an Associate of Lexcom Associate, a legal firm, in connection with the case involving Ghana Telecom and Telecom Malaysia. He told the Commission that, the Lexcom Associate was working on routine matters for Ghana Telecom and never took part in the Telecom Malaysia saga. Mr Charles Ayibor of Danso and Co, also appeared before the Commission over a wrongful dismissal of one Mr Alfred Awusi, who was then working for the Ghana Prisons, leading to payment of judgment debt by the state. He told the Commission that on February 13, 1989, Mr Awusi, who was stationed at Sunyani was transferred to Nsawam. He said Awusi was later accused of flogging a prisoner to death leading to his dismissal from the service. Mr Ayibor said, it was however discovered later on that the incident leading to the death of the prisoner happened on February 16, three days after Mr Awusi had been transferred and he could therefore not be accused. He said Mr Awusi took the case to court and he was exonerated after which the court made an order for the payment of his entitlements which was GHC 5,470 including his reinstatement.
