World Health Organisation Donates To Health Workers In Aowin-Suaman District

In a bid to reduce maternal mortality and improve child health in the country, the World Health Organisation has donated a pick-up and protective clothing worth $ 50,000 to health workers in the Aowin-Suaman district. Speaking at the presentation in Accra, the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Tia Sugri, said the initiative by the WHO will support the Ministry in achieving the Millennium Development Goals four and five. He called on other development partners to follow suit to help Ghana reduce Maternal and Infant Mortality by 2015. The WHO Country Officer, Dr Magda Robalo, said the clothes will go a long way to prevent health workers from contracting the Ebola virus.
