Puma Unveils Ghanas Kit For 2014 World Cup

Puma, a multinational company that produces sportswear and casual wears, on Saturday unveiled the new 2014 Ghana home and away kits that the Black Stars will wear in Brazil for the FIFA World Cup completion. The team debuted the new away kit against Montenegro on March 5, which features PUMAs new football innovation PWR ACTV, a first-to-market use of both athletic taping and compression within the apparel. The ACTV tapes is strategically placed within the garment to provide micro-massages on the skin, working with the human body to help maximise performance and to provide players with a faster and a more effective energy supply to activate muscles. This combined with the underarm mesh inserts for increased breathability and freedom of movement, would help Ghana have a competitive advantage at this years World Cup. The home shirt features bold Africa inspired graphic inserts on the neck and sleeves that represents the pride of Ghana and the national teams name the Black Stars. The print is created in the national colours, with stars and a football field graphic. Speaking at the launch of the new kits, Mr Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Minister for Youth and Sports said what one wears denotes an identity, declaring that the use of the national colours, with stars as graphic inserts on the neck and sleeves of the national teams jersey would inspire the players to victory. Mr Anthony Baffour, a former Black Stars player who unveiled the new kits said he hoped that the new jersey would bring good things to the nation. He lauded Puma for promoting sports in Ghana and across the entire African continent. Mrs Cindy Eghan presented a sample of the new jersey to the Minister. Among the dignitaries that graced the occasion were Samuel Inkoom, a Black Star player and Stephen Appiah, a former national captain and other former Black Star players such as Tony Yeboah, Emmanuel Appiah, Isaac Kwakye, Frimpong Manso and Godwin Ablordey.
