Ghana FA Names Stephen Appiah In World Cup Roster

The former Black Stars skipper will be part of the backroom staff of the Ghana coach at Brazil 2014 as the team makes a third-successive appearance at the global football stage. Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah will join coach Kwesi Appiah�s backroom staff at the 2014 World Cup. According to the Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, the former Juventus midfielder, who captained the Black Stars at their two previous outings at the global football fiesta, will join the likes of experienced coach Sam Arday to support Appiah in Brazil. �I am happy about the news and I will continue to support the team in whatever capacity I am given. This is good news and I hope to help the coach with my experience,� Appiah told Goal Ghana. �I have played with most of the players and there is huge respect among us because we still talk so I�m not going to have any problem at all working with the coach and the team. Let�s hope for the best.� The �Tornado� called time on his career after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
