An unemployed man, who allegedly attacked and robbed a woman of her cash of GH100.00 and other valuables was on Tuesday remanded into prison by a Kumasi Circuit Court. Marshall Nana Asenso, 33, reportedly committed the crime on April 14 in front of the Brigina Fast Food at Amakom in Kumasi. He pleaded not guilty and would make his next court appearance on Tuesday, May 20. Police Inspector Gulliver Kwabena Tenkorang told the court presided over by Mr William Boampong that the victim, Diana Chiaki Wussah, was heading towards Asafo at about 0530 hours, when Asenso, emerged, drew a knife and ordered that she surrender everything on her. He seized her handbag containing cash of GH100.00, a Nokia mobile phone, an Automated Machine card, her diploma certificate and passport-size photograph and fled. Diana decided to conduct her own investigation and succeeded in tracking him at his hideout and informed the police. The prosecution said the victims passport size photograph was found in Asenso's room during a search conducted by the police. The accused, he said, confessed to the crime in his caution statement.
