The much awaited bout between Braimah Kamako a.k.a Bukom Banku and Michael Okine, a.k.a Ayittey Powers will come off today, Thursday, 15th May, 2014. The two boxers with cheers and chants of 'jama' songs from their supporters, arrived at the Sports Stadium on Wednesday for their respective weigh-in session. Banku weighed 218 pounds, exceeding the upper limit of 200 pounds for the cruiserweight division. Ayittey Powers, on the other hand, weighed 200 pounds. Officials at the session asked Banku to shed the excess weight; which Banku complied but to no avail. This led officials of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to intervene and said that a percentage of Banku's 'cash' be deducted and given to Powers for failing to make the required weight. The bout has already be postponed on two occasions but the two boxers have assured their fans that today's fight will be coming off. The bout by all standards will be a fierce clash as Banku has threatened to 'kill' Powers in round seven. Ayittey Powers also, "I will stop Banku in round six" The gates for this evening's fight will open at 5pm and will be broadcast live on Supersport.
