At the recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ceremony in Accra, she kept repeating to herself �God has been good to me again, God has been good to me again �, as she walked to the dais to pick up her Female Best Vocal award. Indeed, Efya was happy to win that award but she was even happier that she was taking that particular award not for the first or second time; she was winning it the fourth consecutive time. She told Showbiz on Thursday �I feel I have been blessed I don�t know of any artiste who has won one particular award on four consecutive occasions and I am glad to have made history winning the Female Vocalist of the Year for that number of times. �I always win against my peers because I am original and on top of my game. And as long as I live, I will continue to win. But all these awards couldn�t have happened without the help of my mum and my management team who have been supportive ever since I began my music career�, she said. She said her secret for being on top of her game is determination and hard work. �I am focused and know what I want to achieve with my music and so anytime I hit the studio to record a song, I always come out with the best� Speaking about her fascinating stage performances which have been a hallmark in her career, Efya said she had always considered the satisfaction of her audiences to be her top most priority. �When I get on stage, the only thing that I have on my mind is to make my audience happy after my performance. In that period, It is not about me anymore but about my audience. As a musician, they are the reason I hit that stage so I don�t have to disappoint them. That is my secret.� Efya who has been nominated twice for VGMA Artiste of the Year award but lost on both occasions, said her dream now is to win the overall Artiste of the Year award. Currently, Efya has been nominated in five categories at the World Music Awards scheduled to take place at the end of this month in Monte Carlo, in the south of France, and she is putting together her latest album which will feature musicians R2Bees and Sarkodie. She said her fans should expect nothing but the best from her as she features some of the best musicians in the country on her yet-to-be released album. She advices up and coming musicians who wants to be like her to be focused and work hard.
