K�dua Nurses Students Warned Over Examination Malpractices

THE HEAD of general Nursing at Koforidua Nurses and Midwives Training College, Suzzy Van-Brock has warned Student Nurses and Midwives against cheating and other forms of examination malpractices. She said the institution will not compromise on its academic standards and would not hesitate to dismiss any student found to be cutting corners by indulging in examination malpractice. According to her, examination malpractice is eating deep into the born marrow of the institution despite disciplinary measures put in place by the school authority. Suzzy Van-Brock said this on Monday when speaking at the launch of the Koforidua Nurses and Midwives Training College's Student Representative Coucil (SRC) week. The SRC week is under the theme: 50 Years of Academic Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Education, The Role of Student Nurses and Midwives. Suzzy Van-Brock explained that examination measures how much knowledge an individual in an institution of learning has acquired over a period under tutelage and a away of evaluating teachers' work in order to ascertain the level of knowledge, and skills imparted onto students, therefore, examination malpractices is a self deceptive since the individual would be exposed when practicing the Profession. She urged the students to desist from wasting time on social media networks and instead focus on studying to enable them prepare adequately towards examination. She advised students to be discipline in all endeavours and exhibit high sense of professionalism when practicing. The outgoing SRC executives led by Offei Stephen Yaw, SRC President, donated items such as two sets of Football Jerseys, a set of Volleyball jersey,32 inch Flat TV set, three Multi TV Decoders, Hundred plastic Chairs as well as foot and Valley balls to the Institution .The donation forms part of the outgoing SRC contributions towards the 50 Years Anniversary celebration of the college. Frank Twumasi, the newly elected SRC President of the college admonished students to be guided by the rules and regulations governing the institution and desist from acts of indiscipline that can jeopardize their future career. Also present at the Program were Dr. Harrison Tetteh, Co- Chief Executive Officer of Joy Herbal Industries, the Koforidua branch manager of HFC bank, the representative of the New Juaben municipal Chief Executive Dr. Kwaku Owusu Acheampong .The rest are sister Hannah Okyere Boateng and Sister Lilian Opoku Brown, Vice Chairman and Financial Secretary to the anniversary committee of the college.
