Castrated Man To Undergo Surgery

THE THIRTY-SIX-YEAR-OLD man, Isaac Abayitey who was castrated by his assailants at Nkurakan near Koforidua in the Eastern region for allegedly stealing a knife is to undergo a testicular surgery to repair his damaged testicles. According to doctors� report at the Koforidua Regional Hospital, the two testicles of the victim have been damaged due to the continuous squeeze exerted on the scrotum by the assailants before gushing out one of the testicles. Doctors are yet to confirm whether the victim will regain fertility after the surgery. Isaac Abayitey was attacked by his assailants at Nkurakan, a community near Koforidua in the Eastern region for allegedly stealing a palm wine tapper's knife. The victim told the DAILY HERITAGE on Tuesday at the Hospital that, his assailants numbering four, attacked him on Thursday evening while about to sleep. He said he managed to escape from the unsafe hands of the assailants and fled into a bush; however the assailants pursued him into the bush, attacked him again, beat him to a bloody pulp and squeezed his balls until he felt unconscious. The victim further explained that, when he got revived, he saw the multiple wounds on his manhood while one of his testicles had gushed out, but he managed to crawl to the roadside and was spotted by passers-by who informed the police. He was subsequently taken to the Koforidua Regional Hospital. At the hospital, a temporary tube was fixed to aid the victim pass out urine since he was unable to urinate. The victim said before the incident, one Addy, a palm wine tapper in the area falsely accused him of stealing his palm wine knife. The family of the victim wants justice to prevail. The New Juaben Municipal Police Commander, DSP Christopher Quaicoo in an interview said the police are undertaking underground information to aid the arrest of the assailants.
