The judgment Debt Commission (JDC) chaired by the Sole Commissioner, justice Yaw Apau has summoned the legal firm �Lithur, Brew & Co� managed by astute lawyer, Tony Lithur and Attorney General and the minister of Justice, Marietta Brew Appiah Oppong to appear before it today. The JDC established by President John Mahama is investigating into judgment debt paid by the state and their invitation is to testify in the commissions ongoing investigations related to debts and other related matter�s A statement signed by the public relations officer of the commission George William Dove and copied to the Daily Heritage indicated that, Lithur, Brew & Co. Chambers will be joined by 12 other representatives of government institutions expected before the commission this week, beginning on today, Tuesday May 27 to 29, 2014. Representatives expected before the commission today are, A.K. Gikunoo of Volta Chambers, Attorney General Department, Calf Cocoa International and Lands Commission, Kumasi. On Wednesday, May 28, the Bank of Ghana, Lands Valuation Division of the Lands Commission, Ministry of Finance & Economic Planning and the Lands Commission, Ho, are to take their turn. And the commission will wrap up its public sitting in May after representatives from Ghana Police Service, Ghana Trade Fair Authority, Attorney General�s Department and Sam R. Brempong of Bethesda Chambers have appeared before it. According to the statement, �the invitees are at liberty to appear with their lawyers. Members of the public who wish to testify or volunteer information are first to report at the Commission�s office to give their statements. The Commission will then schedule a date for them to give evidence. �All those who intend to testify or volunteer information to the Commission but are unable to be present in person are requested to submit memoranda to the Commission. All such memoranda will be treated confidentially.� The Commission�s office is located at 16, 5th Link Cantonments adjacent to the American Embassy Roundabout, Accra precisely the offices of the former Constitution Review Commission. The Commission wishes to remind the general public that Public sittings would be held at 10.00 a.m. each day.
