Statistics Indicate Ghana Among Countries With High Absenteeism Rate

Statistics by the World Bank indicates that Ghana is among countries with high absenteeism rate particularly in the educational sector at the district levels. This has resulted in less productivity and lower learning scores. A lead Economist at the World Bank, Santiago Herrera, presenting Ghana's budget process and its impact on service delivery at a workshop in Accra, said budget execution and monitoring must be prioritised to enhance effectiveness of public spending.
