MultiChoice Ghana Honoured At 9th Ghana-Africa Business Award

At the 8th Ghana-Africa Business Awards held at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra on Friday, May 30, 2014, MultiChoice Ghana was awarded a Gold Award in recognition of its pre-eminent contribution to the development of television in Ghana and Africa. The award, which was presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration for Ghana, Hon. Hanna Tetteh, and was received by the Operations Manager of MultiChoice Ghana, Oscar Mensah, on behalf of the General Manager, Cecil Sunkwa � Mills. Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the Award celebrates business entities that have contributed to accelerating Ghana�s economic development through increased intra-African trade and investment. Other companies were awarded in the platinum and silver categories for making forays in manufacturing, tourism development, retailing sectors and telecommunications. Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ambassador Leslie Kojo Christian, presided over the ceremony attended by diplomats of the African Diplomatic Corps in Ghana, captains of industry and traditional rulers. Upon receiving the award, Oscar Mensah stated that �The past few years have witnessed good service and leadership in innovation in the Ghanaian pay television industry with the introduction of mobile Pay TV devices, the HDPVR Decoder and recently, the DStv Explora, which offers up to two hundred and twenty (220) hours of recording, 2 hours of live paused television. This inspires us to continue to be an industry leader.�
