Late Penalty Kick Saves Edubiase FC From Relegation

New Edubiase scored a last-gasp penalty to draw 2-2 with Hearts of Oak on the final day of the season to deny them a return to the CAF Champions League. Hearts were coasting to victory when they conceded a penalty in injury time as disappointed players of the Phobians protested and held up play. When calm was restored, Asiedu Attobrah scored the all-important goal to crush the dreams of the Phobians who were seconds away from leapfrogging Heart of Lions to second place on the log. Selasie Adjei put the Phobians in front after 18 minutes in the first half to boost their chances of finishing second on the log. However after recess, Hearts were pegged back as Eric Fordjour drew Edubiase level six minutes after restart of the game. As the game headed into the final stages and with a quarter of an hour to go, Hamza Fuseini was on hand at the far post to nod in a cross from a corner kick. But Attobrah's equaliser denied Hearts of Oak a place in the elite continental club competition as they will have to settle for the Confederation Cup.
