The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has insisted that lack of good policies in the past contributed to Ghana taking over aged Players to competitions especially in the men�s under aged events. Africa has been at the receiving end when it comes to age cheating at junior competitions following the recent introduction of the MRI Scan by FIFA. In 2005, twelve Players of the Black Starlets team that competed in Peru, had to be dropped for age cheating. �I don�t need anyone to tell me that we were sending over aged players to junior competitions but over the years the systematic approach we took has really helped matters and that�s how come the girl�s team for instance are performing well at international competitions,� Mr. Nyantakyi said. The GFA President who was speaking at the launch of this year�s Airtel Rising Star event believes developing the talents of children through Education is the right way to go at the grassroots level . He says the concept of selecting players from the school system will not change following the success of the GFA�s strategic educational reform. �The feat achieved by the female junior teams in recent is all because we did the right thing at the beginning,� Mr. Nyantakyi concluded.
