TB Joshua gave me $20,000 - Powers

He was a DJ; wanted to become a secretary but ended up in the ring as a boxer and was only recently defeated in the most coveted, thoroughly controversial Judgement Day bout by his biggest nemesis - Bukom Banku. Michael Okine popularly known as Aryittey Powers has revealed how he ended up at the Synanogue Church of All Nations to be delivered by Prophet TB Joshua. In a good-humoured yet touching interview on Bola Ray's Personality Profile on Joy FM, Thursday, Aryittey Powers disclosed how he went begging to feed, and how many pastors in Ghana had taken money from him ostensibly to chase away evil spirits that was threatening his life. He said with no cause, plan or preparation, he boarded a British Airways flight to Ghana one night and did not know what prompted him to. He was only eating Banku with his friends when it donned on him that he was in Ghana and not in London. He said his life had been messed up; the 7,000 that was in his pocket the night before had reduced to 20. There was nowhere to go; nothing to feed on except a few friends like Python P who were ready to help. The pastors he visited only exploited him until he went to TB Joshua in Nigeria. Aryittey Powers said while many chastised him for going to TB Joshua for deliverance, he can say the God of TB Joshua is a powerful God to serve. He was not only delivered of the evil spirit that was haunting him but he was given an amount of $20,000 for his upkeep. He said he also disobeyed the wise counsel from TB Joshua not to honour the Judgement Day Bout at the date on which it was subsequently rescheduled and for that reason he was pummelled by Bukom Banku. But the easy-breezy boxer, still wearing his coloured Papa Ajasco hair style said it is only ignorance that makes people want to laugh at him for losing a fight that has earned him thousands of cedis. He is now in a new Mercedez Benz when many of those laughing at him are still walking on 'leg-xux' he laughed back at them. Aryittey Powers said he is gracious to God that with very little education, which saw him drop out from Snaps College, he is well travelled with London almost becoming his second home. The veteran boxer said he has received an-all-clear-signal from TB Joshua that he can fight the rematch with Bukom Banku in Kumasi. "What can come can come" he said in readiness to his much touted rematch.
