Stars Must Beat Korea Today To Inspire Confidence

The senior national team, the Black Stars, will round up their preparations for this years World Cup today with an international friendly against South Korea in Miami in the United States of America (USA) where they have been camping ahead of the tournament. The Stars succumbed to the Netherlands in a friendly by a lone goal last week, and are expected to make amends against the South Koreans to boost their confidence towards their game against the USA on June 16 in Brazil. The Koreans overpowered the Stars 2-1 in a recent friendly, and the Stars need to win todays encounter to avenge that defeat and inspire confidence in Ghanaians who appear unimpressed by the Stars outings so far. Incidentally, the USA, Ghanas opponents in Brazil, beat the Koreans 2-0 in a friendly and that is why the Stars must beat the Asians who have defensive and goalkeeping frailties. The Koreans will still parade goalkeeper Jung Sung Ryong in post with Kim Chang Soo organising the defence, Park Jong -Woo and Park Chu Yong will be in midfield to push Kim Shin -Wook to deliver the goals. Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah, expected to start Fatau Dauda supported by Samuel Incoom, Harrison Afful, Jonathan Mensah, John Boye in defence with Afriyie Acquah, Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien, Emmanuel Agyeman Badu, Kwadwo Asamoah and Dede Ayew in the midfield while Kevin Prince Boateng and Asamoah Gyan take charge of the attack.
