The first batch of over 300 Ghanaian supporters arrived home early yesterday morning after Ghana�s ignominous World Cup exit in Brazil. The contingent, comprising state officials, World Cup ambassadors, business executives, members of the various supporters groups and mediamen were aboard an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787 chartered flight which touched at the Kotoka International Airport from Natal at exactly 6.50am. The state officials included Felix Kwakye Ofosu, deputy minister of Information, the Ahwoi Brothers � Kwesi and Kwamina � the Ghana National Petroleum Company Chief Executive, Mr Alex Mould, and others. The World Cup ambassadors included Jackie Appiah, John Dumelo, Becca, Ali Jaraa, Augustine Ahinful and C.K. Akunnor. Others were staff and stakeholders of GNPC, headline sponsor of the Black Stars, a delegation sponsored by Paa Kwesi Nduom, and individuals who were sent to Brazil by the accredited tour operators, Litina Travel and Tour, Kenpong Travel and Tour and Travel Matters Limited. The second batch of supporters are expected to leave Natal tonight (Saturday) and arrive in Accra tomorrow morning after the 4 hours 50 minutes flight. According to the Chief Executive Officer of Travel Matters, Ivan Bruce, the last batch will leave Natal on Sunday night. Meanwhile, another group of supporters who arrived in Brasilia late last Thursday by a charter flight but missed the Ghana-Portugal match are also due in tomorrow (Sunday).
