Ghana Is Free From Ebola

Despite earlier reports that trickled in that an Ebola case has been recorded in Ghana, the World Health Organization(WHO) has established that currently, our is free from the disease. About three months ago, Ghana was given a scare of a possible Ebola case in the Ashanti region. Although there are reported cases of the disease in some African Countries, Ghana is still free. It is on this note that WHO has advised families of victims of the Ebola virus in West Africa to avoid traditional mourning practices. More than 450 people have died from the disease since March this year in three West African countries, Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Ebola which kills 90 per cent of those who catch it, is spread by direct contact with the blood and body fluids of infected animals or people. Experts are meeting on Wednesday and Thursday in Accra, Ghana to come up with a plan to curtail what is the largest ever outbreak of the disease.
