Chris Bosh Finally Arrives In Ghana!!

NBA super star Chris Bosh arrived in Ghana on Thursday afternoon ahead of a four-day official visit to the African country, BASKETBALLghana.com can confirm. The Miami Heat forward was met on arrival at the Kotoko international airport by Senior Director for NBA Africa, John Manyo Plange, officials of Coca-Cola Company Limited, the Ghana Basketball Association and Chief Executive of Rite Multimedia Yaw Sakyi Afari. He interacted with the media briefly before being whisked to the Movenpick Hotel in Accra where he will stay during his visit. The 30-year-old is in Ghana on the invitation of Coca-Cola Company Limited and NBA Africa for the second edition of the Sprite Ball Clinic in the West Africa country. Addressing the media on arrival, the former Toronto Raptors player was hopeful his visit will make an impact on young basketball players in Ghana. �I always do a lot of travelling. I have friends from Ghana and I heard nothing but good things so it�s nice to be here to see it for myself,� he told reporters �I don�t have any expectations when it comes to basketball. I just like to see the talents. I always love working with kids. �I know everyone loves basketball here so I�m sure we�ll have a very good time. Really just teaching the game, playing the game and having a lot of fun. �I have always worked with the NBA. I have been to South Africa with them and when they told me this was the destination, I jumped at the opportunity. �I have been to many countries around the world and I always want to go to more. �My man Pops Mensah Bonsu comes from here and he told me he came here last year and had an incredible time.� Bosh will interact and train promising basketball talents in the country in a platform which will see one player being picked to represent Ghana at the 2014 Basketball Without Borders programme in South Africa in August. Bosh is expected to meet with American ambassador to Ghana Gene Cretz on Friday morning before he addresses a scheduled press conference later in the day at the Aviation Social Centre. He will hold the first session at the same venue on Friday July 11 before he travels to Cape Coast for the second clinic at the Adisadel College on Saturday July 12. The 2014 Sprite Ball Clinic is being put together by Coca-Cola Company Limited in collaboration with NBA Africa and the Ghana Basketball Association. It is organized by Rite Multimedia � leaders in basketball development and promotion in Ghana.
