Robber Arrested For Attacking Baker

The Dansoman Police have arrested an alleged robber for attacking a baker at gunpoint on Republic Day, July 1, 2014. The suspect, Mohammed Mumuni, alias Osaman, a 20-year-old porter, along with three accomplices, attacked the woman at Russia, near Dansoman, about 1:30 a.m. on July 1. The accomplices, whose names were given as Ali Kosei, Tanko, alias Gaza, and Nabir, are currently at large. Robbers wield weapons At a press conference yesterday, the Accra Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Christian Yohonu, said on July 1, 2014, the baker was baking bread when four men armed with a pistol and a machete attacked her. �The baker ran into her bedroom when Mumuni pulled the pistol,� he said. The suspect and his accomplices were said to have stolen a Techno mobile phone, a Techno tablet and GH�800 and left the premises brandishing the machete and threatening anyone who approached them. Hideout He said a complaint was made to the Dansoman Police, leading to the arrest of Mumuni from his hideout at Kokomba Market. The suspect is said to have led the police investigators to where he had hidden the phone and the tablet. During interrogation, Mr Yohonu said, Mumuni admitted the offence and mentioned the names of his accomplices. The commander urged the public to assist the police in investigations by volunteering information that would lead to the arrest of robbers.
