Three accused persons have been granted bail in the sum of GH�5,000 with two sureties. Edward Hanson, Grace Sampah and Kenneth Hanson, were charged on two counts of assault and causing unlawful damage to property valued at GH�5,862, belonging to a Proprietress, Aisha Mohammed. The three are to reappear before the Circuit Court, presided over by Mrs Barbara Naadja Tetteh-Charwey. According to the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Ben Kofi Annan, the complainant, George Afful, is a teacher of Destiny Valley International School at Kofi Kwei, a village near Kotoku, while Hanson, a driver, Sampah, a trader, and Kenneth Hanson, a student, are also residents of the same village. The prosecutor said at about 11:47 pm on June 4, 2014, Hanson, upon returning home from work, did not see his daughter (aged 17 years and a senior high student) at home. C/Inpsr Annan said Hanson, who had always suspected Afful of having an affair with his daughter, went with Sampah to the school. There they met their daughter in one of the offices where Afful used as his sleeping place. The prosecutor said the girl, sensing danger, managed to escape and a misunderstanding ensued between the three accused persons and Afful. The prosecutor said Hanson subjected Afful to severe beatings but not satisfied with his action, he together with the two accused persons set the office ablaze. He said the owner of the school was notified and he reported the case to the police and the accused persons were subsequently arrested. C/Inpsr Annan said after the investigations, the three were charged with the offences.
