A book which chronicles and elaborates on the history of Valley View University (VVU) since it was established 30 years ago was today launched at Oyibi, near Doduwa . The book entitled �30 Years of Valley View University� was authored by Prof Kofi Owusu-Mensah, a Retired History Lecturer of VVU. Speaking at the launch of the Book, Prof Daniel Buor, Vice Chancellor, VVU, said the Book had been written in order to educate people on the genesis of the University which had been touted as one of the best private university in the country. He said the book was to celebrate those who played diverse roles in the establishment of the University from its initial stages to date. Prof Buor said the University had a lot of historical achievements to boast about in areas of scholarship, spots, soul winning, infrastructural development, campus development, expansion in student enrolment, faculty recruitments, among others. He said the University for the past two years had been consistently ranked among the seven of the 67 private and public universities in the country. Prof Aulikki Nahkola, Professor of Theology, Newbold College, United Kingdom, who reviewed the book, told of how the University started with only 12 students in 1983 at Asante Bekwei to its present location at Oyibi which now has 8,000 students with different programmes. Prof Kofi Owusu-Mansah who was the author of the book extolled VVU for being at the forefront of Adventist education in Ghana and Africa. He expressed his appreciation to all those who helped and devoted information towards the successful publication of the book. The first copy of the book was bought by Dr Joyce Aryee, former Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Chamber of Mines was sold for GHC3, 000.
