He said it was important to substantially invest in their training to nurture them into responsible adults. Otumfuo Osei Tutu made the call in a speech read for him at the annual general meeting of the Ghana Scout Association (GSA) held in Kumasi. The King said growing indiscipline among the youth was a major challenge confronting society, and that, it required deliberate actions to pull them back from the path of self-destruction. They would need to be assisted to make the right choices and to acquire skills that would make them useful to society. The meeting discussed ways of strengthen the association and promote its growth. The scout movement has been playing significant roles to help young people to uphold the values of discipline and patriotism. It has, however, in recent times lost some of its shine and attraction because of the lack of funding. Otumfuo Osei Tutu made a plea to corporate bodies and organizations to support the association to bring back its vibrancy. Mr Johnson Asare Antwi, the Ashanti Regional Commissioner, pledged his determination to work hard to grow the movement.
