Brouhaha Over US Embassy's "What Sacrifices?..The Pay cut?" Apology To Prez Mahama

Mixed reactions have been expressed on twitter following an apology which was rendered to the Office of the President by the Embassy of the United States of America in Ghana. Shortly after President Mahama's tweet on his official twitter handle, assuring Ghanaians that the current economic challenges would be over soon, that of the US Embassy responded to his message in a rather jarring manner. The tweet by the president read: "As a people, we have had to make sacrifices. I wish to assure you that the results of these sacrifices would begin to show very soon." This was followed by a cheeky response from the embassy which also read: and what sacrifices are you making? Don't tell me that pay cut." Clearly riled, the Chief Executive of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Ras Mubarak, and some other government officials, demanded the Foreign Affairs Ministry take up the matter against the Embassy. Thus, forcing the US Embassy to come out with an official apology and explanation that a staff of theirs, accidentally caused the gaffe and his faux pas should not be blamed on the entire organization. "Our staff mixed a personal handle with that of the embassy's...We've communicated our apology to the Office of the President," the Embassy posted. The apology and clarification notwithstanding, several followers of the embassy have taken to twitter to offer their take on the matter. Peacefmonline.com randomly selected some of the tweets. Ama Agyemang Asante wrote on her handle the US Embassy Ghana tweet to JDM wasnt intentional. It was unfortunate and we should accept the apology and move on. Koheleth appeared cheeky with the statement waka ah waka to wit hes said it all and there nothing you can do Others appeared softer and were against the tweet from the embassy. One of them was Nene Odonkor. He tweeted that I may not like the way my Prez is handling the economy but for you to tweet that was uncalled for. Below are screenshots of some of the tweets.
