Man Shot Dead In Dodowa

A 39-Year-old man was shot dead in his house at Dodowa last Saturday by an alleged gunman Kwame Sedewonu. The victim, a sachet water supplier, was shot in the compound of his house where he lived with his wife and children. At about 2 a.m. on Saturday, Kwesi McCarthy was said to have heard footsteps behind his window and had questioned who was behind his house. According to the Dodowa District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Mr Kwesi Ofori, the wife of the deceased told the police that McCarthy did not get a response and therefore, decided to go out to investigate. Gunshot She told the police that immediately her husband stepped out of the door, she heard a gunshot. When she rushed out, she saw her husband lying in a pool of blood while a man was standing in the compound with a gun. The shouts for help from the wife of the deceased attracted neighbours who had also heard the gunshot. Some of the neighbours called the Dodowa police who rushed to the scene. Suspect arrested Mr Ofori said the victim was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He said Sedewonu had been arrested in connection with the crime and was assisting the police in their investigations. The suspect, 42, a driver, was expected to be put before court today while investigations continue.
