Ghana legend Reverend Osei Kofi has revealed that ex members of the Black Stars team who formed part of the four African Cup winning squads are planning to invoke curses on the national team from ever achieving laurels if Ghana president John Mahama fails to honour his promise compensating them. Osei Kofi who is the spokesperson for the group was a key member of the Black Stars African Cup of Nations winning squad in Tunisia 1965 says the ex legends will copy the style of ex Benfica coach Bela Guttman who cursed the Portuguese club from achieving European success in 100 years. It would be recalled that President John Mahama, during a state ball to bid the Black Stars farewell to Brazil pledged a GHS 1.7m (about $571,910) �token� to be shared amongst former Black Stars players who won laurels for the nation but the promise is yet to be fulfilled. And in a public outcry, the ex Stars led by Osei Kofi have decided to do a Bella Guttman if the president fails to listen to their plight and predicament as many of these heroes have turned paupers. "If by next week Wednesday we still haven't heard anything with respect to the pledge I will personally walk to the president and tell him that we are not kids to be tossed around with". Ose Kofi said in an interview with Kumasi-based Angel FM "I will tell him that if he refuses to honour the promise and any of us die in the process we will curse the team". "It happened to Portuguese club Benfica when they cheated on their coach (Bela Guttman) and failed to give him what was due him and he cursed the club for 100 years and it is still affecting them so it can work here". "We have served the nation and won all the cups for Ghana diligently and selflessly and when its time to reward us people want to treat us like some small boys". "We will curse the team (Black Stars) so that the trophy drought in the 32 years will forever remain as such and we wont win any trophy again". "They can say they have qualified to the World Cup but in the end they bring nothing back and that is how it is going to remain". "We will also organise a campaign to prevent corporate bodies from contributing financially to the team during tournaments because in the end we wont bring anything back and the monies will end in the pockets of some corrupt people". "We have warned them to honour the promise by Wednesday or we curse the team period". He added. The Black Stars have remained trophyless since they last won the Championship in Libya in 1982 and Osei Kofi believes the trophy drought is purely spiritual.
