All Nations University College Makes Strides In Building The Amateur Ground Station

The resolve of All Nations University College (ANU) to put Ghana among Space Science nations in the world is about to be implemented. The team is poised to design and build and Amateur Satellite Ground Station this year, to take the credit of not only being the first University to have successfully designed and built a Miniature Satellite called CanSat in the sub-region, but also the first University to build a Satellite Ground Station. The much awaited Ground Station will to be used to track Amateur Satellite in Orbit, train engineers in Space and Satellite Engineering and for research purposes that will enhance both institutional and industrial activities in the sub-region. The team is tirelessly working to update the Scientific CV of Ghana by registering Ghana in the book of Space science countries. The project manager of ISSL, Mr. Benjamin Bonsu hinted that, they have executed all hardware integration and Software�s needed for the project. The team has demonstrated their preparedness to surmount all odds to succeed. In a related development, a staunch member of the ISSL team, Mr. Benjamin Bonsu has a won a coveted award from Hamsphere. Hamsphere is a software amateur radio simulator that allows licensed radio amateurs and unlicensed enthusiasts to communicate with one another using a simulated ionosphere. It allows one to send voice messages to many amateur radio operators worldwide. His call sign was 77HS336. The DXHC Bronze Award was signed by the President of Hamsphere, Mr. Kelly Lindman, reads �Mr. Benjamin Bonsu, on 1st July, 2014 submitted evidence to Hamsphere showing two-way communications with other Amateur Radio. Stations and Radio enthusiasts in at least twenty-five different countries on the virtual Amateur Radio bands of Hamsphere�. The member using QTH as All Nations University College has really put the University to be the first in Ghana to communicate with amateur radio operators worldwide. The outreach coordinator of ISSL, indicated that the team will continue to instill in the youth the need to study Science based programmes to help change the scientific destiny of Ghana.
