Chief Coach of the Ghana Athletics team Albert Nukpeza has been dropped from the Ghana contingent at this year's Commonwealth Games before the delegation departed to Scotland, Ghana Sports has been informed.
The chief coach expressed shock on Peace FM at the situation, having trained the athletes for some time now.
"I don�t even know some of them, and even those who have been sent don�t merit the standard we require for competition like Commonwealth Games," he complained.
According to him, the Chairman of the Ghana Athletics Association, Professor Francis Dodoo, made the selection for Ghana and he as the coach together with the Association's Technical Committee has no idea about Ghana�s selection and cannot say whether Ghana will do well or not.
He said the athletes that are supposed to participate at the Games are not the right ones and cannot say that Ghana will bring back any medal from the competition.
�Apart from only two athletes that I know, the rest of the team were selected by the chairman of the Association and members of the technical committee have no knowledge about the selection,� he said.
