Alhaji Mustafa Oti Boateng, the Chief Executive Officer of Chocho Industries, in collaboration with the Eastern Regional Secretariat of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, has organized a buffet lunch for inmates of the Koforidua Prisons as part of the celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr. The 709 inmates, members of the Ahmadiyya Mission, the Eastern Regional Chief Imam and media personnel all went to the same long table to pick what they wanted. Nana Kodua Kesse, the Oyokohene and a Member of the Council of State, appealed to the inmates to aspire to come out reformed to enable them to contribute to the development of the country. The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere, said it was easy for one to be sent to prison and urged the prisoners not to allow their current situation to stop their desire to leave as good citizens of Ghana. He appealed to families and members of the society to show love to people who are released from prison to motivate them to stay in society as good citizens. Alhaji Oti Boateng appealed to the inmates to be careful of the type of friends that they would when discharged and donated to the inmates 40 cartons of chocho soap and chocho creams for the treatment of skin diseases. The Commander of the Koforidua Prisons, Mr Samuel Otabil, appealed to families to show love to their relations who are discharged from the prisons. He said as a result of coldness towards one of the prisoners who was granted amnesty by the President recently was back to the prisons because he felt more at home in the prisons than in the society. An appeal from one of the inmates to the visitors to support the prison authorities to construct a workshop to enable the inmates to acquire some skills while in prison led to the donation of 90 bags of cement and three trips of sand from the Eastern Regional Minister, the New Juaben Municipal Assembly, Alhaji Oti Boateng and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission.
