Omanhene Calls On Traditional Rulers To Lead Development Efforts

Nana Kwabena Afram Brimpong, Omanhene of Suma Traditional Council, in Jaman North District of Brong-Ahafo Region, has called on traditional rulers to rekindle the spirit of community development. He emphasized that traditional authorities had pivotal roles to play in ensuring accelerated national development and they could play these roles effectively when they collaborate with District and Municipal Assemblies and other development partners both home and abroad. As citizens, we should not wait for the government to give us the development we need but rather assist the government to deliver the infrastructural development we desire for our communities, he said. Nana Brimpong made the call at the maiden meeting of the Suma Traditional Council at Suma-Ahenkro, on Tuesday. Nana Brimpong noted that no community could develop without peace and security and appealed to the people to bury all their differences and work hard to significantly improve the educational and health infrastructure for development. The Omanhene expressed optimism that the desire for development would be rekindled among Ghanaians for national growth and development.
