2014 Ghana Basketball And Leadership Camp Postponed To Friday 22nd

The 2014 Ghana Basketball and Leadership Camp has been postponed with new date and venue announced, organizers have confirmed. The second edition of the camp was initially scheduled to take place between August 17-24 at Adisadel College in Cape Coast. But organizers have moved the camp to the University of Ghana from Friday August 22- Saturday 30th at the University of Ghana in Accra. Numerous parents have appealed for the cost to be reviewed due to the prevailing economic conditions, and has therefore become vital to shift the camp to the capital, reducing the registration cost. However the content of the camp will remain unchanged. This will allow more kids to participate in the prestigious event and ensure that cost does not become a barrier. In a statement issued in Accra on Friday 15th August, the Chief Executive of Rite Multimedia organizers of the event, Yaw Sakyi Afari, amplified the reasons for the change of plans. We would like to announce to our registered and prospective campers that the date and venue have changed, Afari said. We have reached this decision as a result of our quest to ensure more kids participate in this exercise. In order to ensure that we achieve this, we have therefore decided to change the venue to reduce the cost of the camp. He added that The decision to host the camp to Cape Coast sky-rocketed the cost of the exercise but with majority of the registered kids based in Accra, it has become mutually beneficial to have the camp in Accra. We must state that the change of venue will NOT affect the content of the camp as the programmes lined-up remained unchanged. Campers were initially billed to pay GH450 Ghana cedis but will now pay GH350 for residential campers and GH250 for non-residential campers.
